Made possible through our partnership with Children’s of Alabama, this event brings education and community together in one welcoming space.
Epilepsy Empowerment Expo
Learn. Connect. Feel Empowered.
The Epilepsy Empowerment Expo is a one-day educational and connection event on Saturday, April 17, 2027 designed for people living with epilepsy, caregivers, families, and anyone looking to better understand epilepsy and seizure care.
Made possible through our valued partnership with Children’s of Alabama, the Expo brings together healthcare providers and epilepsy experts to provide practical, accessible education on topics that matter throughout the epilepsy journey. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from experts, ask questions, connect with others, and gain resources they can use beyond the event.
Learn From Epilepsy Experts
Throughout the day, providers will lead expert presentations on a variety of topics, including:
- Seizure Recognition and First Aid
- Navigating a New Epilepsy Diagnosis
- Epilepsy Comorbidities: An overview of mood, memory, and other related concerns
- Antiseizure Medications and Insurance Coverage
- And more topics designed to help individuals and families feel informed and empowered
In addition to the main educational sessions, attendees will have opportunities to participate in breakout discussions focused on pediatric and adult-specific epilepsy care. These smaller conversations provide space to explore topics and questions that may be unique to different stages of life.
More Than Education
The Epilepsy Empowerment Expo is also an opportunity to build community. Lunch will be provided, and attendees will have time throughout the day to connect with other individuals and families affected by epilepsy, meet professionals and community partners, and discover additional resources.
